Do not use a pressure washer to remove moss from your roof.
Carefully place a ladder near the area of moss growth and don slip resistant shoes old clothes rubber gloves and eye protection.
That way whenever it rains some of the metal molecules will wash down the roof and kill any algae trying to regain a foothold on your shingles.
Hose off and brush all moss loose from your roof shingles.
Moss is tough and typically you will not be able to remove it by hand.
To keep the algae from coming back insert 6 inch wide strips of zinc or copper under the row of shingling closest to the roof peak leaving an inch or two of the lower edge exposed to the weather.
Even so you will always need to mount the roof later on in order to remove the dead moss.

The trick is to put the flashing under the tab of the shingle as far up the roof as you can.

If you do decide to use a power washer to clean the moss off your roof make sure the pressure washer is set on the lowest pressure setting to avoid damaging your roof.
The copper will change color to a green like grey but that s a lot better looking than all that moss and algae.
When i noticed moss on my roof my first instinct was to rent a pressure washer and blast it away.
However you can use a chemical solution to loosen the moss without damaging the shingles.
